fluid condition
fluid condition was an exhibition HILLS completed alongside artist Madeleine Sloane that responded to a series of prompts that examined their respective queer experiences. The concept of the ‘fluid’ formed the core of their investigation, as they draw parallels between the nature of bodies of water and inquiries surrounding identity and sexuality.

state of erosion and emerge, submerge, re-emerge consider bodies as a landscape. I use the motif of intricate coastal cliff faces that are forged from the most violent of natural forces as a metaphor for our own oppressive queer history and how, just like these coastal landscapes, these volatile extremes have resulted in a united community that emanates raw beauty.
